Follow me to the inch of rage. and don't forget to send Seaman a postcard from Yog-Sothoth.
The second crossover voter Webcomic from Frederick Moore Vinson Ngo a.k.a Bleedman (the first being Powerpuff Girls Doujinshi), created in late 2004 (roughly a twelvemonth subsequently PPGD was started). Forbidding Tales from Down Below
is a devotee-comic based on fanfics, focusing connected deuce characters created by E.R.M Griffin (DeadDoll00), the children of Grim and a at once adult Mandy, from The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy, who in this Alternate Continuity are the king and queen of the underworld: Inexorable Jr. (a.k.a. Junior) and his patchwork sister Minnie (abbreviated for Mini-Mandy), piece incorporating an stock fanfic for the two which was typed by SonicRose.
Similar PPGD, Grim Tales started off at DeviantArt
before Nongovernmental organization moved it to Snafu-Comics. Already intimately known, Grim Tales added more readers to Ngo's already overflowing fanbase. Nongovernmental organization has a predilection for incorporating Narm, and Darker and Edgier, and extremum Fan Disservice in his works, and as so much, the comic has garnered some controversy, particularly regarding a plot point within the comic dealing with serious-life events.
After vi years , the main series eventually finished in June 2009 and was ostensibly the destruction to the series. However Ngo unveiled he was working a short subsequence called AfterBirth
that apparently deals with Minimandy coping with her agelessness and being near alone afterwards Junior sets out along a life story of adventure. Here are some preview pics of the humorous.
This story, however, has been stated to make up non-canon.
In February 2011, the comic continued with a mini-series called Grim Tales: What About Mimi
(GT: Wallop). The comic follows Mimi, who is sent into the Grim's menag to locate an object of immense power for him. During same mission, Mimi's past is brought to light bringing many shocking swerves with it. That in time ended in July 2012.
After which came, Cheerless Tales: Further Orientation
(GTFO), which is a collection of short stories featuring the main characters.
After the aforementioned GTFO ended with the first "Mimi" file, he began on "Grim Tales: Chapter VIII (8)" in April 2013.
Yeah if you haven't guessed by this taper off, Bleedman really loves working on this serial publication.
If you'rhenium intrigued by completely of the above, then begin reading
. The sequel, Afterbirth
, is uploaded full on the Uncheerful Tales Wiki. (Warning: you leave have to navigate with kid gloves to avoid spoilers)
Now has a Character reference Sheet. Feel free to conduce.
Grim Tales from Pull down To a lower place provides examples of:
- Absurdly Sharp Blade: Pain's steel
- Abusive Parents: Mandy and Junior share a non-sol-heartfelt moment.
Judgment from the Reaction Shot from the pillow of the family, it's supposed to embody an unusual, What the Sin, Heron? matter... if it's not already a regular occurrence. - Accidental Twist: In the middle of a battle
between Mimi and Minnie, Junior's head and prickle are dropped to the found. Once he's on/ungenerous the ground, he's visually confronted with a clear view up Mimi's surround. - Age-Inappropriate Habilitate: some dependent girls(equivalent Mimi, Minnie and Chi) wears Stripperific clothing that is too risqué for their age.
- Almost Kiss: Mimi
is such a Moment Killer sometimes. - Always a Bigger Fish: No kidding
- Antagonist in Lamentation: Of all the evils in this universe, Aku plays this trope straight. He became so depressed after the dying of Samurai Jack that he turned his home into a copy of Jack's cultivation to have something to think him by.
- Art Evolution: Same as PPGD, the style denatured as the humorous progressed
- Artwork Change over
- Author Ingathering: Mimi and Junior give a very...significative human relationship.
- Badass Family: Junior and his family in spades count and by extension his engender's lovers. Merely the biggest example would be Mimi's family which includes her father Him , mother Efflorescence and her two aunts, Bubbles and Buttercup and her granddad Prof. Utonium . And if this picture
is any indication Dexter and Braveness are component part of the family as well. - Bad Future: This strip
- Bad Humor Truck
- Barred from the Afterlife: It's revealed that Billy died some years before Grim and Mandy's wedding, and ended up in Eden due to being "too stupid to be wicked". But the saints got Federal Reserve upbound with him and kicked him unstylish (literally). Billy then ended up in Hell on earth awhile, but they got sick of him in that respect as well. Nowadays, he's just wandering the Earth as a disobedient spirit.
- Shine-O-War: It's payback time,
bitch! - Because You Were Nice to Me: Junior's Nergal side has reduced itself to help him on babysitting Mimi because Junior is elbow room much nicer to IT than its previous owner.
- Berserk Button: Do non mess with Junior if you don't want to face the wrath of Minnie. Which leads the States to...
- Mind the Squeamish Ones: Minnie is sweet, placate, respectful, and caring. Make her harebrained if you want to.
- Spacious Bad: Three of 'em: Ooogie Boogie, Him, and finally Minnie's Nergal demons. Boogeyman in the non-canon sequel Afterbirth.
- Big Blessed Heroes: Several. This
being a quite prominent example.- Raven was looking like one in Mimi's flashback... until Him shows finished.
- Boastful, Screwed-Up Family: Something of a recurring theme among the various families live. Peradventure non surprising, considering the greater separate of the cast is comprised of demons or worse. Depictions kitchen stove in magnitude from being Played for Laughs silliness to jaw-dropping acts of hostility and ill-use.
- Black Speech
- Brother–Sister Incest: Minnie thinks of Jnr as more than just a brother, contempt her denials, This seems to betoken that at some point in the future Grim Jr. will return her affections .
Right now they seem to have an odd brother-baby version of a "Romantic" Two-Girl Friendship. Continued with implications that Mimi might be Junior's half sister as well, and her own half-sister seems to have feelings for her. - By the Power of Grayskull!: Or Nergal, as the case may be.
- More of a lampshading than an factual invocation of said trope.
- Calling the Artemisia absinthium Out: Nergal to Grim over how Junior and Minnie were conceived.
- And Junior to Mandy over Mimi. Amazingly she's the matchless who backs down feather
- Canon Discontinuity: Grim Tales: Afterbirth, which was marketed As a sequel to the first webcomic, has been declared non-canon.
- Clingy Jealous Girl: Minnie is not appreciative of Inferior appreciating Mimi's skills, or her Too Kinky to Torturing moment.
- Persistence Nod: While under Her-induced rage, Minnie makes reference to a spell of Valentine's day flye art involving the girl in the well.
- Cooldown Hug: Minnie gives Junior one
to stop his demon side.- And before that Junior gave a Cooldown candy kiss to Minnie occlusion her from going away School Days on him.
- Cosmic Horror Story: All cartoon (and some other media) hero you rich person ever known and loved is dead and all that survived are the Weird Abomination's they shielded us from, the only real man left is Mandy.
- Crossover voter: With several other shows. Most notably, The Nightmare Before Xmas and Danny Phantom.
- Dora the Explorer, Teletubbies... where IS that Ice Cream Man from, anyway?
- Prepare to experience very silly... he's from Spawn, of run. He's a paedophile serial killer whale called Billy Kincaid.
- Justified some characters from the obscure cartoon Visionaries appear as Galore's henchmen.
- Mandy's weapon vault is a room made of shoutouts to too many other books, movies, comics, cartoons and myths to numeration... but it's fun to hear anyway
- Dora the Explorer, Teletubbies... where IS that Ice Cream Man from, anyway?
- Cute Ogre Girlfriend: Minnie, Mimi Him's Daughter
- Afterbirth bring us more of them including Myna World Health Organization makes an actual appearance in the main series.
- Now there's Chi, daughter of Aku.
- Darker and Edgier
- Read Afterbirth. If you thought Grim Tales was morbid... you own't seen nothing yet. Let's summarize: The happy ending of Grim Tales rebounds - Minimandy has undergone an "Afterbirth" devising her permanently perplexed in her automaton trunk. Prior to this Inferior left over, preferring to train himself as a lone wolf so that his powers don't bear on his loved ones (symmetrical though Minimandy was helping him with it). She leaves, gets abducted by the Booger and offers herself as his bride, giving up her remaining eye. Meantime, Jr. is enraged when He returns home to find her missing. This prompts a pursuance to obtain her, resulting in a instead troubling encounter with an evil counterpart, Drax, while Junior's possess half-siblings (born from Mandy and Dark Danny's fatherless youngster) get used as science experiments. When the Big Bad is featured, he has captured the souls of children to fuel his own powers, and is thwarted by getting literally dragged into the bowels of hell, informatory the protagonists that they will burn for their parents's folly. And the ending... Dark Danny is back to cause both unbeknownst trouble shortly after the protagonists go home, most in all likelihood to cause hell complete seeing his children impermanent benevolently and not as the destructive forces of nature he intended them to cost.
- Death and the Maiden: Grim and Mandy. Jn and Minnie to a lesser degree.
- Death by Cameo: Irwin, Hoss and Raven already hold met that fate, now Blossom will more liable be heading there soon. Or, at least, Fate Worsened than Death.
- Never Found the Body, For Predate and Hoss... and Irwin... advisable... IT's not just verified.
- Information technology's mentioned offhand in GTFO that Him killed all of them, while Mimi was forced to kill her mother.
- Defiant Stone Throw
- Distrait by the Sexy: That was cagey.
- Grim's imperative entree gets a little position caterpillar-tracked, arsenic seen here
. Not that we can blasted him.
- Grim's imperative entree gets a little position caterpillar-tracked, arsenic seen here
- The Dog Bites Punt: The Nergal symbiote reveals
that all the destruction it caused in Allhallows Eve townsfolk was to vent out all the frustration inside it for years of beingness Minnie's slave. According to it, Minnie was just like Mandy towards Grim thereto; when Minnie returned from Heaven, it tested to consume her in desperation, because it didn't want to return under her heel. - Dramatic Irony: It seems Demongo's info is outdated. When explaining Grim Household to Chi, helium says that Junior
is the weakest link in the family unit, with no skills or abilities whatsoever and that Minnie
is the epitome of goodness and the example of a Proper Lady. Yeah. - Eldritch Abomination: Ngo is quite apt at these.
- Emergency Transformation: The funny pretty much leads equal to this.
- Enemy Without: What happened when Immature couldn't control Minnie's powers.
- Failure Is the Only Option: Him knew every along that Mimi wouldn't be able to stand reliving her greatest dread via "Repulsion's Hand." The mission to retrieve it was pretty much his way of "disciplining" her for her earlier betrayal.
- Fanservice
- Fan Disservice
- Flipping the Bird: Junior to Mandy. Kid's either got a solid lot on him for a skeleton, or an un-Thanatos.
- Flowery Elizabethan English: Minnie Mandy speaks alike a person under the tempt of too much William Shakespeare.
- Gender Equals Breed: Minimandy is a human and Junior is a reaper.
- Somewhat subverted by the fact that Minimandy is actually the bastardly child of Mandy and Nergal Jr.
- Ghosts Abhor a Vacuum: In the fight betwixt Mynah bird Harpist and Mimi, after Minah uses her vampire powers to turn into a ghostly form to avoid acquiring low away a mansion Mimi threw at her, Mimi uses a vacuum to trap her.
- Good Thing You Can Heal!: Disconsolate flat KO'd says this to his son. Minnie even says "the pain will be brief".
- Gorn: This page
, especially the last two panels. - Heel–Face Turn: Mimi
- Hot Springs Episode: Aku has natural hot springs in his castle which leads to great amounts of Fanservice from his Gender Bender form.
- Censor Steam
- How We Got Here: The totally risible is basically same big flashback. Even having a flashback within a flashback when Junior tells Lock in, Appal, and Gun barrel how his parents got together.
- And Grim has a flashback inside THAT unity.
- Hyperspace Arsenal: Mimi pulls this is pretty some every appearing, both of them are truly absurd, and hilarious.
- "I Make love You Are in There Somewhere" Fight down: Subaltern with Minnie due to Him's influence.
- If I Arse't Have You…: DIE!
''' - I Just Deficiency to Be Badass: Grim Younger is surrounded aside redoubtable badasses far more powerful and dangerous than He is, which is difficult to bear when you're the Grim Harvester's 'Son.'
- I'll Kill You!: See above spoiler.
- Incest Subtext: Minnie has... tendencies. Trabeated into text edition as of the last mentioned fractional. Heavily teased.
- Inexplicably Awesome: It's never made clear why Mandy, even as a ten-year-old, had an air more dark and evil than the Grim Reaper himself. Then again, does it really substance?
- Informed Power: Helga Pataki can be a jerk, but the idea that she's ended ascending equally "the meanest and rottenest teacher in the underworld" is overdoing it.
- However, this could be a case of Unreliable Teller.
- She was wherefore Minnie negotiation the right smart she does, so it could be more of a Cabbage-and-Ice Personality.
- Interspecific Romance: Mandy and Grim, Minimandy and Grim Jr., Mimi and Unpleasant Jr., and Mandy and Nergal Jr.
- Kamehamehadoken: Dark Danny
- Lovecraftian Superpower: The Nergal demons own these
- Love Triangle: Implacable Jr., Minnie, and Mimi.
- Nonstarter Frien: For completely his berserk buttons and what demon-reaper powers He may own, protagonist Grim Junior is consistently planate by any serious opponent he goes up against.
- Marshmallow Hell" Played for laughs
- Dayfly–December Love affair: Mandy and Grim.
- Meaningful Background Event: During the fight with the Pumpkinator redux Nergal Lower-ranking's silhouette is visible
.- Along this
Sri Frederick Handley Page, there are three heroes which come to Mimi's aide, Irwin, Hoss, and Raven.
- Along this
- Mega Crossover: And how! Flatbottom Breed shows up.
- To a greater extent Teeth than the Osmond Kin: Most monsters tend to have enormous mouths full of pointy fangs. [[ https://www.snafu-comics.com/grimtales/gtfo
Bleed's rendition of Mina]] from Mina and The Count is a mild example. - Ms. Fanservice: Mandy grows up
real nice
. REAAAALLL
NICE
. - Neck Snap: How Him kills Irwin.
- Mimi pulls one on Junior also, simply it's played for laughs as the intact Page was a big Mortal Kombat spoof/charade/etc.
- Negative Persistence: The use of this in The Grim Adventures of Billystick &ere; Mandy is revealed to be Grim just not feeling same reaping them.
- No-Holds-Barred Beatdown: Observe.
- Bean People: Minnie has super far legs for an eight-year-old girl, and highlights this by wearing tights and extremely short dresses all the time. Exhibit A.
It gets more pronounced as the Graphics Evolution goes connected; in the beginning she looks more standard. Junior looks pretty noodley himself in this page
. - Nice Farm out Breaking It, Hero: Practically everything that happens in the story is Junior's error for telling his sister off. Disaster Dominoes, anyone?
- Obligatory Swearing
- Ohio, Crap!: Individual times, especially Junior's face in this comic
- One-Winged Angel: Minnie, with and without her soul. Peculiarly gruesome in the last mentioned.
- Orphaned's Ordeal: In this image
, Mimi witnesses Raven's destruction at the hands of Him, barely able to utter the word "Mama" every bit she falls. Given what we know becomes of her under Him's "care"...- She survived, only given how things are departure, give it another three pages...
- Corvus corax's non actually her bring fort. Her real mother dies several pages later that, and offscreen.
- She survived, only given how things are departure, give it another three pages...
- Panty Shot: Ohio sorry, "True to life Skirt Physics".
- And yet there's still a fair amount of Magic trick Elude action. Whether girls jumping around in exceedingly short skirts results in a Panty Shot seems to depend entirely on the whim of the artist.
- Given an unputdownable twist in a Blinking And You'll Miss It Minute in this strip
, see if you can spot information technology.
- Pensieve Flashback: Mandy activates a device in the vault which sends them and Mimi into one.
- Purity Personified: Minnie. Except for the incest and Yandere aspects.
- Puppy Love: Oh
, dear
Immortal
, the Puppy Love
... - Rescue Romanticism: Image subverted
. Mimi was precisely able to delay Shammer enough time for Aku to rescue Chi and ab initio, Ki wasn't interested in Mimi for her organism a "commoner" (despite being princess of another Hell realm). But now Chi is head-terminated-heels for Mimi and paints those moments differently. - Right for the Wrong Reasons: Unknowingly for her, Chi manages to put the finger
in what's going connected with Mimi's errand (from the "eaten by a demon domestic dog"
to "biting a son's head"
), and she just happens to be wishing her the worse for not replying her messages. - Ruins of the Modern Age: When Mimi was affected aside the Reach of Horrors, her greatest fear was centered in the Ruins of Megaville
- Ruling Couple: Grim and Mandy are always referred to put together when information technology comes to the linguistic rule of the Netherworld. Considering how Mandy is, this is no storm.
- Screw This, I'm Outta Here!: Junior's Nergal side definite to step out now that Minnie is succumbing to her inner evil; he advises Junior to keep apart a close eye happening Mimi just in case Minnie does something to her because now he's on his personal.
- Shared out World: with Powerpuff Girls Doujinshi (
albeit a bit into the future
)- Actually the conscientious objector-writer/editor Bee Are and the colorist Seiryuga for PPGD have reportedly stated this to be false. Though as Seriyuga no more whole caboodle along the comic this has off into a Tack of Immortal.
- Shout-Out
- Billy's unpredictable hourglass appears to be a shout dead to Rincewind's.
- Nergal Jn. shows up wielding Soul Edge Phantom.
- The same page as Big Mandy
is on? Yea, bust your eyes off her and look to the bottom-right. It's a line-for-line reference to "LABretto", from Dexter's Laboratory. Equitable see for yourself
. - The Angry TV Game Nerd cameos here
As the personification of the Mortal sin Wrath. - The daimon-mecha has an odd Verbal Tic. Yes...
- See The Cameo. Grotty Hamburger is from Danny Phantom.
- "Am I not Merciful!?"
- And just the likes of the Jollibee
hollo call at The Power Hassock Girls Doujinshi, Bleedman made a shout out to another another Filipino dealership
in this page
. - Next to the sword Miniskirt pulls unsuccessful of Jr's Body to defend Mimi is a red-hilted Frostmourne.
- When Mimi infiltrates Unforgiving's vault in the WHaM comic, every panel has one or two items happening display in the background from some other franchise. They've ranged from Captain America's shield, to the Lament Configuration, to the Sword of Omens, the Omnitrix, Mjlonir, Hellboy's Stone pass on thing, Chemical X, Giglypi, a robot with Freakin Optical maser Beams
, Spartan Shield, what looks like the silhouette of Link's shield, Freddy's unguiculate glove, and The Infinity Metal glove. A silhouette that could be Hector Con Carne's brainpower, and the vial identified previously as Chemical X could just as easily cost Antidote X, since it is blackness in color. - Mimi in that pageboy
somewhat resembles Senjougahara (as seen therein pageboy's image). - The Golem may look familiar to those who watched Samurai Jack. He's the Lava Monster/Norse Warrior that Jack help prepare free. The size and color may be divergent, but the resemblance
◊ is uncanny
. - Mimi fires Angry
Birds! - Him's permutation of Mimi's work force might embody a reference to the folktale The Girl With No Hands.
- Him's backdrop
looks equal Giygas from Earthbound.
- Skewer Take: In the last page
of the Christmas Special, the Scotchman has this kind of chemical reaction to seeing Emoji girl in a rather skimpy maid expressive style waitress getup. - Skyward Scream - Mimi after her flashback from Infernal region
- Starfish Language: Substantiation that article's picture.
- Summon Bigger Pisces the Fishes: Maledict straight person
- The Cameo: Coop seen hither.
- The Chessmaster: Clockwork
- "The Reason You Suck" Speech: Nergal gives one regarding Grim's... "children", for lack of a better word.
- The Un Favored: Poor Junior-grade, doesn't tight his parents and especially his sister wear't caution though.
- Particularly ironic when considering the subsequent revelation that IT's in reality MINNIE who is Grim's Un-Preferent, due to her being the child of Nergal Jr., himself the boy of his old rival, Nergal. Helium hides it cleanly in front of his kids, but atomic number 2 definitely favors Junior over Minnie by a long shot. Whether that changed when Nergal's powers was passed from Minnie to Junior is another matter...
- Mandy has also started to treat her son more favorably than her girl. A she was in reality quite impressed past her son developing a acantha and standing aweigh to her, while Mini Mandy's more past actions have unsuccessful to coiffure the same.
- The Unintelligible: The "Nergellian Verbalise" Minnie, Nergal and advanced Grim Jr. possess is show only as symbols and never translated. Even the Ngo himself lampshades atomic number 2 has no idea what their saying.
- Although, sometimes you backside catch the basic idea of what they power be saying. Near the end
, their "Nergellian" appears in the take form of hearts.- One of the most new pages really translates a short-stalked conversation between Junior and Mandy in the Nergel verbalize equally footnotes.
- Although, sometimes you backside catch the basic idea of what they power be saying. Near the end
- Take That!: An extended flashback seems to equal one directed at FusionFall. The combined strength of the entire Cartoon Mesh lineup fails to ba Armaggeddon at the workforce of Mandy, Grim, and Him.
- The Voiceless: Mimi doesn't utter a word through her appearance in the comic.
- This Is for Emphasis, Bitch!: Glum Danny has a line or two like this.
- Time Skip: If the preview pics are to be believed, Afterbirth will be this.
- Those Wacky Nazis: Mandy admired Hitler and the third reich in her youth
◊. Becomes jarring considering that Mandy has always favored chaos as opposed to totalitarian fascism and the source mentions her as having remaining wing political views that gave her a political position. - Tomato Storm: Minnie's actually the illegitimate child of Nergal Junior. and Mandy. Junior is too the illegitimate minor of Mandy and an hitherto unknown man, but the matter is dropped before that person is disclosed.
- Too Kinky to Torture: Mimi being stretched out aside Minnie only hurts her for a second until she starts liking IT.
- Comes back again in a Holocene epoch chapter where she moans with pleasure as she places a burning hot chakra to her forehead.
- The Unreveal: Nergal knows WHO Junior's biological father is, but that's complete we get connected information technology.
- Unrequited Love Switcheroo: Ab initio, Chi didn't want to constitute anything of Mimi, WHO had a huge Renown Crush happening her. Now, Chi can't get enough of Mimi, who may be falling for Minor now.
- The Worf Effect:
- Villainous BSoD: A brief uncomparable, but with a twist. Dark Danny here
contemplates the topsy-turvydom and destruction of Megaville shown in Mimi's past via "The Hand of Repugnance." Helium has a BSOD of sorts not because he caused the destruction, but that
he wasn't approximately to cause it. Also a touch of Electric refrigerator Logic when you agnize that with all the heroes gone, that includes the young Danny Phantom, meaning their contention will never be settled like Darkness Danny wanted. - Surround of Text: Rather extreme in both this
and this
- Wilfully Debile: Junior and the symbiote are told by His grandfather, the Grim Reaper King that they are each much more powerful than Mimi. Even so they believe otherwise because she made them feel that way purposely, so they support back their true likely without knowing they had any.
- Whop Episode: Grim Tales: What About Mimi? or GT:Whack, where we learn almost Mimi's Acheronian and Troubled Past and Junior and Minnie's itinerary starts to divide.
- Author on Board
- Yandere: Minnie.
- Ye Olde Butcherede Englishe: Minnie.
- You Aforesaid You Would Get Them Go: Here
- You Shall Non Pass!: Subsequently Mimi's infernal nitty-gritty is removed and restrained, Mandy orders Pain to remove her from the premises...but Junior's suddenly blocking the way and his eye is aglow. Defying your mother is i matter, but when she's Mandy, it takes some real Brass Balls, skeleton or not.
